Originally designed to house Casper College and Natrona County High School, this Collegiate Gothic building was the first center of education in Wyoming. The new design is focused on an academy model, with project-based learning at the forefront. Bassetti played a key role in developing a complex phased construction plan that keeps students on campus while building new additions and renovating historic structures. Cutting-edge mechanical systems fit within the old building while delivering occupant comfort and unprecedented energy savings.

The historic auditorium will serve as home for statewide competitions and the Wyoming Symphony. Significant renovation will result in better acoustics, a larger stage and orchestra pit, and restored architectural details. Bassetti has provided graphics and assistance for fundraising for theatre enhancements.

Other project features include:

  • Addition of new gyms, classrooms, science labs, media center, and career technology shops.
  • A new commons for informal gatherings, food service, presentations, and social interactions.
  • Expansion of campus property and vacation of internal vehicular streets to improve parking, vehicle circulation, and pedestrian safety.
  • Location of exterior courtyards adjacent to the Commons to improve access to daylight, views, and activity areas.
  • Program areas for culinary arts, agriculture, natural resources, and electronics to prepare students for future careers.
