Seattle, Washington
Designed by the joint venture partnership of Bassetti Architects | Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, the 200,000-square foot Seattle City Hall and the adjacent Civic Plaza provide a new home for citizens to participate in and celebrate their government. The building design reflects the natural environment, craft, technology and people of Seattle. Close collaboration with landscape architect Gustafson Guthrie Nichols resulted in a seamless transition between the plaza and the building.
Sustainability was an important design objective for the new Seattle City Hall. The project incorporates a green roof, raised floor system in offices, recycle system for rain water, and recycled building materials. The building has been recognized with a LEEDTM Gold certification.
