Sited to take advantage of its steeply sloping site, this 650-student elementary school reflects a location close to Puget Sound. The repeating peaks of the school building resemble waves, and the color scheme reminds students of their proximity to the water. Daylight and exterior views predominate in hallways, classrooms and library. Water run-off from the roof forms a sculptural feature at the building entrance to further connect students with their surrounding environment.
