The Overlake School
Redmond, Washington

This private middle and high school, located on a rolling rural campus, is comprised of a collection of simple farm house buildings - simply detailed, painted white, with green roofs. To add the Fulton Performing Arts Building and the Fine Arts Building to the campus, Bassetti Architects designed within the vernacular style yet allowed the building colors to express their function as places of dramatic and artistic endeavor.

More visible from public roads, the physical education building is designed to complement and extend the existing campus architectural style. The facility includes a full gymnasium, training room, dance and aerobics classrooms, and locker rooms, and leaves an option for a future climbing wall. All buildings are personalized with the culture of the Overlake School, including the artist-painted owl that occupies the center gym court.
