Bassetti inducted in UW CAUP Roll of Honor
Fred Bassetti FAIA will be inducted
into the University of Washington College of Architecture and Urban Planning
Roll of Honor at an event on Tuesday, Jan. 15th, 2008 at UW Architecture
Hall. Mr. Bassetti is the founder of Bassetti Architects, and was recognized
for his significant contribution to the development of modern architecture
in the Pacific Northwest. Click

Brockman honored as Woman of Influence
Marilyn Brockman AIA was honored as
one of 20 local women that make a difference at the Women of Influence
event held Thursday November 8, 2007. The Puget Sound Business Journal
called for nominations of women who shape the growth of their companies
and community. When asked for words of advice, Ms. Brockman replied “Find
your moral compass and remain true to it. It will help you answer many
difficult questions.” Marilyn Brockman AIA is a principal at Bassetti

Edward Peters wins BetterBricks Award
Edward J. Peters, Capital Projects
Director for Edmonds School District, won a 2007 BetterBricks Award in
the Owner/Decision Maker Category. The Award recognized the Edmonds School
District’s contribution to high performance buildings, including Lynnwood
High School, designed by Bassetti Architects. "The Edmonds School
District has often tested new sustainable approaches for its schools but
Edward Peters is taking them a step further. As capital projects director
for ESD, Edward is currently managing three new sustainable projects for
the district including the new Lynnwood High School, scheduled to open
in fall 2009. This 215,000 square foot facility will use passive ventilation,
automatic dimming, condensing boilers and other features that are predicted
to outperform the Washington State Energy Code by 50 percent."

Hepp named region’s "green" school leader
Greg Hepp AIA, a principal here at
Bassetti Architects, has been selected by the U.S. Green Building Council
to oversee a new initiative to make schools greener in the Pacific Northwest.
The Green School Advocates program is intended to create a team of people
who care about green schools. Their mission is to spread the word about
the benefits of sustainable schools. Click

Designing the Sustainable School
Cottage Lake Elementary
School in Woodinville is a featured design in the new book Designing
the Sustainable School, written by Alan Ford and published by Images Publishing in 2007. Designed by Bassetti Architects, Cottage Lake Elementary utilizes extensive daylighting, natural ventilation, and other sustainable design strategies to reduce energy usage, increase occupant comfort, and provide educational opportunities to deepen the school’s academic program.
