Cal Anderson Gatehouse
2008 - Seattle, Washington
The Cal Anderson Gate House was designed and built in 1900 by City Engineer, R. H. Thompson for the Cedar River Water Supply Reservoir. The small, neo-classical, symmetrical building was designed to house the gate valve and other pumping equipment for the reservoir. After 108 years of service, the structure has been designated a Seattle City Landmark, and is still a functioning gate house for the now underground reservoir. This project includes an exterior assessment of the existing structure and a complete renovation of the building.
