2009 - Bothell, Washington
Designed to enhance school unity and the surrounding ecosystem, the new Lynnwood High School's center is the Agora. Greek for “marketplace," the Agora serves as a gathering space and community resource. It effortlessly handles the flow of 1,600 students and addresses social interaction on multiple levels. The sustainably designed school received a $240,000 energy rebate from the Snohomish County PUD and earned an Energy Star design certification. Lynnwood High School is the 2010 winner of the James D. McConnell Award, CEFPI's most prestigious award for excellence in educational facility planning.
