Pacific Cascade Freshman Campus
2005 - Issaquah, Washington
The design of this new 110,000-square foot ninth-grade campus was based on interweaving the needs of the school with those of the surrounding community. The Commons is the social heart of the school with the academic areas, administration, and library radiating from this central space. The library, Commons, performing arts space, and gym facilities, while connected internally, are all organized to allow for independent operation after hours. Originally designed to be converted to a future middle school, the campus has proven remarkably successful for preparing ninth-graders for more rigorous study.
