Sequoyah Middle School
2005 - Auburn, Washington
Planned for initial occupancy by 700 students in grades 6-8, the design incorporates flexibility for possible conversion to K-8, K-12, or even a small high school. Six clustered classroom units form the basis of the school’s flexibility. Three wings of two-story construction have approximately 6,500 square feet per floor. The only permanent walls are at the stairwells and toilet cores. Six interior steel columns complete the structural grid, allowing multiple configurations of the interior partition walls..
