Interior Designer

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Interior Designer in our Seattle office. The ideal candidate is passionate about architecture, has a strong design sensibility, and appreciates the process of articulating design through presentation, documentation, and construction process.

Responsibilities

  • Generate design concepts and space planning solutions.
  • Produce project presentations and documentation to support design concepts.
  • Develop specifications and coordinate with construction documents.
  • Manages the furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) selection and procurement.
  • Coordinate documentation work with project team and consultants.
  • Work collaboratively with architectural staff to develop design concepts and meet deadlines.
  • Experience mentoring junior interior designers.
  • Periodic travel to our Portland office for project coordination.

Level II Specific Expectations (6+ years of experience)

  • Review and comment on the technical specifications.
  • Design, prepare, and present interior color and materials to the client.
  • Collaborate on the design and assist with the presentation of environment graphics to the client.
  • Review and provide comments on cost estimates and other consultants reports or documents.
  • Coordinate documentation with project team and consultants.
  • Assist the construction administration team which can include interface with owner, contractor, and consultants.

Level III Specific Expectations (8+ years of experience)

  • All items listed above.
  • Generate in collaboration with office specifier, review, and comment on the technical specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership for interior design portions of large complex projects.
  • Design, prepare, and present interior color and materials for complex projects.
  • Collaborate with Graphic Designer and present environment graphics to the client.
  • Review and provide comments on cost estimates and other consultants reports or documents on the most complex projects.
  • Coordinate documentation with project team and consultants on the largest and most complex projects.
  • Assist the construction administration team which can include interface with owner, contractor, and consultants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or other advanced degree in Interior Design from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as IIDA licensed interior designer is encouraged.
  • 6+ years of experience in interior design for institutional or commercial projects or a closely related design industry role.
  • Experienced Revit user.
  • Enscape experience is a plus.
  • Photoshop and InDesign experience preferred.
  • Excel experience required.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Capacity to manage several projects at the same time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
